product description

Bismarckia nobilis palms thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. They require regular watering in their early stages but tolerate drought as they mature. They need ample space to grow (8-10 feet between palms) and should only be pruned by removing completely dead leaves.

Detailed Care Instructions
• Light: They flourish in full sun, which enhances their silvery foliage and promotes rapid growth. They can tolerate partial shade.

• Watering:
• Young palms: Require regular watering, about 2-3 times per week for the first three weeks after planting.

• Mature palms: They tolerate drought well.

• Caution: Overwatering leads to frond wilting, root rot, and unpleasant odors.

• Soil and Fertilization:

• They prefer well-drained soil and adapt to various types (loamy, sandy, acidic, or alkaline).

• It is recommended to fertilize with a high-quality palm fertilizer 6 weeks after planting. • Pruning:

o Remove only completely dead leaves at any time of year.

o Avoid cutting leaves that are not completely dead, as this depletes potassium and attracts pests.

• Planting:

o Leave at least 8-10 feet (approximately 3-4 meters) between each palm to accommodate its size at maturity.

• Pests and Diseases:

o Beware of the dwarf palm weevil and Ganoderma basal rot fungus.

• Propagation:

o Propagation is by seed, and germination takes 6 to 12 months at high temperatures.

o Soaking the seeds in warm water for 24-48 hours before planting is recommended to accelerate germination.
