Ponytail Palm
product description
The ponytail palm is an easy-care succulent that stores water in its swollen trunk. It requires bright light, very infrequent watering (only watering after the soil has completely dried out), and well-draining soil.
Basic Care Instructions
• Light: The plant prefers direct sunlight or bright, indirect light. The ideal location is near an east- or west-facing window.
• Watering:
o The golden rule: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
o Growing season (spring to fall): Water the plant approximately once every two weeks.
o Winter: Reduce watering to once a month.
o Caution: Overwatering leads to root rot.
• Soil and Pot:
o Use a well-draining granular potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent potting mix.
o The pot must have effective drainage holes.
• Temperature and Humidity: It thrives at normal room temperatures and does not require special humidity. • Fertilization: Fertilize the plant once in early spring using a balanced fertilizer for houseplants diluted to half strength.
