product description

The Chamaerops humilis palm, also known as the Mediterranean Doum palm or dwarf palm, is an excellent ornamental choice thanks to its slow growth, medium size (1.5–3 meters), and high resistance to drought, heat, and salinity. It prefers sunny locations with moderate watering and well-drained soil, and is propagated by seeds or offshoots.

• Chamaerops Palm Care Instructions:

• Light: Prefers full sun, but tolerates partial shade.

• Watering: Requires small to moderate amounts of water. Allow the top layer of soil to dry completely before watering again to prevent root rot.

• Soil: Prefers rich sandy or loamy soil, but good drainage is essential.

• Fertilizing: Fertilize once a month with a palm fertilizer during the spring and summer.

• Pruning: Does not require heavy pruning; dry fronds or excess offshoots can be removed from the base. • Climatic conditions: Highly resistant to drought and wind, and can tolerate cold temperatures (down to approximately 10°C).

• Propagation: Can be propagated by separating offshoots (basal growth) in spring or autumn, or by seed.

• Uses of the palm: Suitable for ornamental purposes in gardens (as a hedge due to its thorns), or grown in large pots for indoor and outdoor landscaping.

Pots are not included in the price.
